At Utah Valley: SOPHOMORE ~ (2012): (OUTDOOR) Finished sixth in the 3000m steeplechase (11:37.17) at the Wildcat Open ... Placed sixth in the 5000m (17:18.48) at the Utah Spring Classic ... Finished third in the 3000m steeplechase (10:52.67) at the UNLV Track Classic. (INDOOR) Placed 19th in the 3000m (10:25.93) at the Snake River Open. FRESHMAN ~ (2011): (INDOOR) Was a redshirt (OUTDOOR) Finished seventh in the 300m (10:26.12) at the UVU Open and ninth in the 5000m (17:47.22) at the UVU Collegiate. Before Utah Valley: Prepped at Spanish Fork High School ... received the SFHS 2008 Cross Country Most Improved Award ... also ran track for the Dons. Personal: Graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 2009 with a 3.976 GPA ... was an Honor Roll student as well as a member of the National Honor Society ... majoring in Engineering Graphics and Drafting Technology at UVU ... participated in marching band, concert band, and jazz band in high school ... enjoys soccer, fencing, falconry, frisbee, and hard work ... parents are Jared and Rachelle Orton. |
