Wolverines Among Leaders at Azusa Pacific, Mt. Sac Relays

AZUSA, Calif.-- Utah Valley University's Maryn Pincock set a new school record in the discus Friday with a throw of 157 feet, 8 inches at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by the Azusa Pacific.
Pincock along with Makira Rackham, who won the second of two women's high jump flights, led the Wolverines, who had a total of 29 Top 20 finishes in the meet.
Along with the Bryan Clay Invitational, the Wolverines are competing at the Mt. Sac Relays and the Long Beach Invitational.
Along with the top spot in the discus, Pincock finished 14th in the shot put (43-00.5).
Zandrea Nelson was in the top 20 in three events: Second, 4x400 (Nelson, Rebecca Brown-Renshaw, Taylor Gomezand Chelsea Baker-Nelson) at 3:48.07; 14th, 200 meters (24.61), and 18th, 400 meters (54.89).
In the men's 5000 meters, the Wolverines earned four top 20 finishes: Cliff Nielson (4th, 14:48.33); Macy Butterfield (15:08.16); Mike Felix (15:20.48), and Trevor Baker (15:20.87). In the women's 5000 meters, Angela Bakerplaced 15th (18:08.58).
In the women's 800 meters, the Wolverines had a pair of top 10 finishes in Shelise Walker(4th, 2:12.36) and Aleina Eisenhauer-Winger (8th, 2:14.12).
In the 400 meters, Chelsea Baker-Nelson (56.69) placed 10th; in the shot put Aaron Best (48-09) placed 14th; in the long jump, Zach Cook (22-07) placed 14th; in the hammer throw, Becca Hutton(160-04) placed 18th, and in the 200 meters, Brydson (21.71) placed 20th.
In action Thursday at Azusa Pacific, Shelise Walker (42nd, women's 1500, 4:27.46); Aleina Eisenhauer-Winger (83rd, women's 1500, 4:34.28); Chris Dorton (55th, men's 1500, 3:51.76); Tim Rowberry (62nd, men's 1500 3:52.35); Stephanie Christensen(21st, women's 10000 meters (36:48.02).
Action continues Saturday at three venues: Mt. Sac in Walnut, Calif.; Long Beach Invitational at Cerritos College, and the Bryan Clay at Azusa Pacific.
