UV Faces Packed Field at Boise State
Jan. 25, 2008
OREM, Utah - Utah Valley will compete against its most competitive field as the Wolverines head Boise, Idaho to compete in the Blue and Orange Classic hosted by Boise State. "The field is packed with quite a few good teams at this meet," UV head coach Scott Houle said. "Athletes like Mariama (Salifu) will have an opportunity to be tested. Our distance runners have a great opportunity to run on an excellent track in a loaded field." The Wolverines are coming off strong finishes at the BYU Invitational and Idaho State meet. UV's women's distance runners Karinne Bentley and Mary Nothum along with Chase Englestead from the men's team will have the opportunity to run in a competitive field on a good local track. Houle also said that UV will also be looking at men's sprinters Jorden Pope and Brent Fogt as they will compete in the 200 and 400 meter races. After Boise State, Utah Valley will have a week off before returning in two weeks to Idaho State on Feb. 8 and 9.
