Four New Records Set at ISU

Pocatello, ID - The Utah Valley State track team set four school records at the Idaho State Double Dual Invitational. Joe Bendoski broke his old record in the mile by running a 4:10.69. His previous record was 4:12.52. In the women-s 200, Mariama Salifu ran a 25.61, breaking her old mark of 25.71.

Tawny Judkins set a new school record in the women-s long jump by jumping 18 feet and two and ¾ inches. Judkins jump was also good for a third place finish.

The women-s 4 X 400 relay team (Judkins, Tiera Zaugg, Whitney Peck, Kari Snow) broke a four-year old record by running a 3:57.56. The previous record was 3:58.56.

Utah Valley State coach Scott Houle said he was also pleased with the performances of Spencer Foster, Karinne Bentley and Tim Rowberry. Foster ran a 9:09.18 in the 3,000, Bentley ran a 5:06 in the mile and Rowberry ran a 1:54 in the half mile, good for a second place finish.

Salifu also had a first place finish in the 60-meter dash by running a 7:61. Clifton Palmer was third in the high jump at six feet seven inches.
