Five UVU Student-Athletes Headed to NCAA First Round

OREM, Utah -- The NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee announced the participants in the 2012 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Preliminary Championship Competition Thursday, and included on the list are several Utah Valley University athletes. After sending three student-athletes last year, the Wolverines are sending five to participate in five events in Eugene, Ore., May 24-26. Freshman Nicholas Taylor will compete in the 100 and 200 meters; Tim Rowberry in the 800 meters; Shelise Walker in the 1500 meters, Maryn Pincock in the discus, and McKell Camp-Nielson in the javelin. Camp-Nielson, with her throw of 50.87 meters, is ranked 11th in the javelin, while Rowberry is 38th, Taylor (36th, 100, 10.47 seconds; 40th, 200, 10.47)); Walker (25th, 4:23.11) and Pincock (38th, 50.02 meters).
Last year, Olivia Kyere-Boateng (100, 200), Kodi Kleven (5,000 meters) and Kelli Roach (javelin) competed for the Wolverines.
