At Utah Valley ...

Earned Academic All-WAC honors ... participated in six races for the Wolverines including the WAC Championships and NCAA Mountain Region Championships ... had four top-15 finishes on the year ... finished 10th at the Utah State Invitational (21:29.2) ... finished 12th at the UVU invitational (18:52.2) ... finished 9th at the WAC Championships (25:53.6) ... and finished 63rd at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships (31:14.8), the best of any men's team participant.

REDSHIRT (2012):
Redshirted the season.

FRESHMAN (2009):
Named a Great West Conference Second Team All-Conference member ... competed in all six races on the season for UVU ... placed 14th overall at the GWC Cross Country Championships at famed Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, N.Y. with a time of 27:04.0 (8K) and helped his team to their first conference championship ... finished in 73rd place at the UVU's first-ever NCAA Regional appearance as he posted a time of 32:36.3 (10K) at the NCAA Mountain Regional.

Before Utah Valley ...

Prepped at Davis High School ... named All-State four times ... two time State Champion in cross country and a three time State Champion in track ... was the 5A Cross Country State Champion and the 3200m Run State Champion in track.

Son of April and Joe Gutzwiller...Served an LDS Church mission to Nicaragua...Graduated from Davis HS in 2009 with a 3.4 GPA...Plans to major in communications...Also recruited by BYU and Weber State.
