OREM, Utah -- Behind a eighth-place finishes by Cliff Nielson (20.25.8) and Krystal Harper (17:43.6), the Utah Valley University men's and women's cross country teams placed third, respectively, and the BYU Autumn Classic Friday at Cascade Golf Course.

Both the men's and women's teams had identical scores of 78 points in the second meet of the 2012 season.

BYU won on the men's side with 15 points, while Weber State won the women's side with 17 points. The University of Minnesota finished in the men's race with 55 points, while BYU finished second in the women's race with 72.

Behind Nielson, Mike Felix crossed the line in 14th (21:06.6), followed by Macy Butterfield (17th, 21:22.4), Chris Dorton (19th, 21:33.3) and Trevor Sharp (20th 21.38.3).

Behind Harper, Darian Sharp placed 10th (17:51.1), followed by Stephanie Christensen (1th, 18:24.0), Ally Deeter (21st (18:44.2) and Ivie Gonsalves (22nd, 18:48.4).

Weber State's Amber Henry won the women's 5K with the time of 16:58.9, while BYU's Jared Ward won the men's 4-mile at 20:02.7.

The Wolverines are back in action Sept. 29 at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota.
