OREM, Utah - Utah Valley cross country will begin its season Friday as the Wolverine runners head to Utah State.
The men will run an eight kilometer race at 2 p.m. while the women will follow with a five kilometer run at 2:40 p.m. Both runs will take place at the America West Heritage Center.
"We are excited to get going," UV head coach Scott Houle said. "We are definately going to be better off than we were last year.
The Wolverines will run against athletes from Idaho, Utah, Utah State and Weber State.
"We are excited to get out and run against these local schools to see where we are at and what we need to work on," Houle said.
Following Utah State, UV will run at the BYU Autumn Classic at East Bay Golf Course on Sept. 8.
