Harriers Run Locally in Provo
Sept. 7, 2007
OREM, Utah - The Utah Valley cross country season continues as both the Wolverine men and women head to Provo to run in the 2007 BYU Autumn Classic at East Bay Golf Course. The women's 5k race begins at 10 a.m. and the men's four-mile run starts at 10:50 a.m. "We are fortunate to compete against two teams ranked among the best in the nation on each side (men and women)," associate head coach Kirke Adamson said. "On the men's side we hope for our guys to run together to help us score well. Some of our women are battling injuries but we have great leadership at the top." UV will run against several top cross country teams. Host-school BYU, picked to finish first in the Mountain West Conference on both the men's and women's team, will provide quality competition. Utah Valley will also face off against Minnesota (men), San Bernardino Junior College (men), Baylor (women) and Dixie State College. The Wolverines are coming off a strong showing at Utah State where the women finished second as a team against several local teams. The UV men also ran well at Utah State, finishing second.
