Wolverine Runners Ready For BYU Autumn Classic
Sept. 8, 2006 OREM, UT- The Utah Valley State cross country team competes in the state of Utah for the only time this season on Saturday when they run at the BYU Autumn Classic held at East Bay Golf Course in Provo. The men and women will compete against runners from BYU, Idaho State, Colorado State, Dixie State, Utah and Eastern Utah. The men's four-mile race begins at 10 a.m., with the women's 5K starting at 10:50 a.m. The meet officially starts at 8:30 a.m. with high school races. Admission to the Autumn Classic is $3 for adults and $1 for students with ID. Children five and under are free. Youth athletes age 14 and under who wear their track or cross country uniforms will be admitted free. The Wolverine runners opened the season last weekend at Idaho State. Joe Bendoski won the men's competition while freshman Mary Nothum finished second. Bendoski placed fourth in the Autumn Classic last year.
