USAF ACADEMY, Colorado - Whatever Trent Perry had for breakfast the last two mornings apparently worked as the senior slugger outdid even himself Saturday. Perry had three hits, including a grand slam as he tied a single game school record with six RBI as the Utah Valley State baseball team destroyed the Air Force Falcons 21-4. Perry-??s day brings his two day total to four home runs and 15 RBI in three games.

-??That-??s just outstanding,-?? said Coach Steve Gardner. -??Some guys play a long time and never do that.-??

After coming into the weekend 0-3, the Wolverines have crawled back to .500 after winning three straight as they-??ve scored 44 runs while giving up just nine.

-??We-??ve had three outstanding games at the plate,-?? said Gardner. -??Hitting-??s contagious and we had some clutch hits and that got us rolling.-??

21 runs and 25 hits both set new NCAA school records for Utah Valley State as every Wolverine that stepped up to the plate had at least one hit.

Kevin Hashimoto who went 5-6, was just a triple away from the cycle after being thrown out at third trying to stretch a double. Kory Drew had four hits including a home run while Brad Hales and Reno Mendenhall added three hits apiece. Hales has a hit in every game so far this season while Canyon Vance has a hit in seven straight at-bats after going 2-2. Cory Newton got into the mix as well as he had two hits on the day including a bases loaded, two out double that cleared the bases and got Utah Valley going in the first inning.

The Wolverines homered four times on the day with Dan Bulow, Perry, Drew and Hashimoto all leaving the yard.

The Wolverines will try to ride the momentum through tomorrow when they take on North Dakota State at 10:00am Sunday morning.

-??We-??re hoping we can make it four in a row,-?? said Gardner. -??Hopefully we can have another good day. There-??s no reason why we can-??t.-??
