NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Utah Valley's Kai Hatch and Texas-Pan American's Sam Street were honored as the Great West Conference Baseball Players of the Week after their outstanding performances last week. The award was announced Thursday by the conference office.

Hatch, a senior from Bellingham, Wash., batted .364 in a series win at West Coast Conference squad Portland. The shortstop drove home the go-head, and eventual winning runs with a base hit in the sixth inning of game two in the series while scoring the winning run in the first game. Hatch also played errorless defense in 18 chances and also added a stolen base.

Street, a junior from Melbourne, Australia, pitched a complete game in a 4-1 win at Northwestern State this past weekend. The right-handed hurler scattered six hits, one run - none earned - while striking out five batters in the complete nine-inning effort. He has pitched 17 of the 18 innings in the Broncs' wins and has thrown 81 of his 115 pitches (70.4 percent) for strikes.
