Utah Valley will play its final non-conference weeked series of the season when it travels to Dallas Baptist for three games starting Friday at 6:30 p.m. (CT) at Horner Field. Saturday’s game is slated for 2 p.m. (CT) and Sunday’s finale will begin at 1 p.m. (CT).

The Wolverines (5-15) have lost three straight after a 7-3 loss at Utah on Tuesday. UVU lead 3-1 in the sixth but six late runs by Utah gave the Utes the win. Craig Brinkerhoff had a two-run single in the game and Beau Kallas tripled, but Utah Valley had just three hits on the night against its in-state foe.

Dallas Baptist if off to a 15-5 start on the strength of a 2.62 team ERA.  The Patriots, who have made it to the NCAA Regionals in two of the last three years, incuding a Super Regional appearance in 2011, are second in the country in strikeouts per nine innings as a staff.

The Patriots lost 5-0 at Texas on Tuesday, ending a six-game win streak that included two wins over Oral Roberts, one over BYU and a sweep of Missouri State. Dallas Baptist owns a 6-0 mark all-time against UVU, winning all six during the 2009 season.
Utah Valley makes a short trip to Las Vegas for a Tuesday contest at UNLV. It will be the first-ever meeting between the programs. The weekend series also brings a school that UVU has not faced in Bakersfield, the team picked to win the WAC. That series start Friday, March 28.
