Baseball hosts Utah Tuesday at 6 p.m.

OREM, Utah --
Utah Valley University hosts Utah on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in a non-conference midweek contest at Brent Brown Ballpark.

The Wolverines (14-20) lost to the Utes (14-17) in 11 innings, 3-2, on March 19 in the first meeting between the teams this season.

Utah Valley will send right-hander Adam Gunn (4-4, 4.41) to the mound. Gunn is coming off of a complete-game win last Thursday against Houston Baptist. Utah is slated to start right-hander Trey Nielsen (0-0, 0.00) in what will be his second start of the season.

The Wolverines split a four-game Great West series against Houston Baptist while Utah is coming off of three losses at No. 5 Oregon State in Pac-12 play.


  • Operation Play Catch - free admission to anyone bringing a glove to donate to troops overseas. Donations of baseball gloves, baseballs and cash donations to help pay for shipping costs.
  • Murdock-Hyundai Night - 4th Inning Home Run Challenge. Contestant will have a chance to hit a home run off of a tee from 3rd base. Hitting the warning track earns $100, hitting the fence earns $200, and over the fence earns $5,000! 
  • Intermountain Utah Valley Regional Medical Center - Giving away UVU rally towels to the first 1,000 fans.
  • Bergo's Party Pals will providing free UVU and baseball glitter tattoos for kids (and adults) at the stadium.
