Brinkerhoff Named to Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American Team
June 6, 2007 OREM, Utah - Utah Valley third baseman Jace Brinkerhoff was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American Team by Collegiate Baseball on Wednesday. He was second on the team with a .371 batting average during his rookie season at the collegiate level. He also had four home runs, 12 doubles, one triple and 26 runs batted in. As a pitcher, Brinkerhoff finished with a 3-6 record and a 5.77 ERA, throwing two complete games on the year. He had two separate 12-game hitting streaks, including at least one hit in 24 of 25 games while being named honorable mention all-independent. Utah Valley finished 25-30 this season, its highest win total since the move to Division-I.
