WACO, Texas -- Utah Valley University sophomore Mark Krueger was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Midwest All-Region first team on Friday, prior to the start of the College World Series in Omaha.

Krueger hit .306 with seven home runs and 42 RBIs in earning first-team All-WAC honors. He helped the Wolverines to a second-place finish at the 2014 WAC Tournament in Mesa, Arizona.

Krueger is the first Utah Valley player to earn All-Region since 2012, when Goose Kallunki and Austin Heaps both named ABCA All-Region and All-American and Billy Burgess earned second team All-Region recognition.

The midwest region of the ABCA is comprised of 32 schools including 2014 College World Series participants TCU, Texas Tech and Texas. From the Western Athletic Conference, New Mexico State, North Dakota and Northern Colorado are also part of the midwest region.
