Curtis Condie enters his fourth season as an Associate Head Coach to Dick Hunsaker. He has helped Utah Valley State to an impressive 65-24 mark over the past three seasons. Last year the Wolverines finished with a 16-12 record in their first year with a full Division I schedule. Only three teams have accomplished that feat in the last 25 years. Before joining Hunsaker staff, Condie was a full-time assistant at Northern Arizona University. That year the Lumberjacks finished fourth in the Big Sky and qualified for the Big Sky tournament. Condie is no stranger to Utah college basketball. Prior to his one-year term at Northern Arizona, he was an assistant at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. He served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the school from 1998 to 2000. During his tenure, Snow claimed back-to-back SWAC basketball titles (1999 and 2000). The Badgers posted an 80-16 record during his three-year tenure. Prior to Snow, Condie served as the boy's varsity basketball coach at Wasatch High School (Heber City) in 1997-98 and at South Sevier High School (Monroe, Utah) from 1994-97. He was named Utah AA Basketball Coach of the Year in 1996-97. Condie began his collegiate coaching career at his alma mater, Utah State University. He was an administrative assistant in the 1993-94 season. He served under then-coach and current Southern Mississippi coach Larry Eustachy. Eustachy was also an assistant under Hunsaker at Ball State. Condie, a native of Alhambra, California, received his bachelor of science in physical education from Utah State University in 1994. Prior to attending Utah state, Condie attended East Los Angeles College where he was the captain of the men's basketball team in 1984-85 and in 1987-88. In 1988 he led the South Coast Conference in three-point percentage at 58.9 percent. He served an LDS Church mission in Nashville, Tennessee, from 1985 to 1987. Condie and his wife, Wendy, have four children, including daughters Taylor (12) and Courtney (5) and sons Anthony (9) and Preston (3). |
