Andy Hipsher enters his first year as an assistant coach at Utah Valley State. Hipsher comes to Utah Valley after serving as the video coordinator at UNLV under coach Lon Kruger. Prior to his time at UNLV, Hipsher was on the staff at Texas Tech with Bob Knight for two years. Hipsher played at the University of Akron for his father Dan, who is currently an assistant coach at Arkansas. Hipsher was named to the All-MAC Freshman team in 1999 and earned Academic All-MAC honors twice. His playing career was curtailed due to three back surgeries. Prior to his playing days at Akron, Hipsher prepped at Archbishop Hoban and was a two-time All-State selection and the Akron Beacon Journal Player of the Year in 1999. Hipsher earned his Bachelors in Business Management in 2004 from Akron and then got his MBA in Marketing from Texas Tech in 2005. |
