Mike Kelly is in fifth season at Utah Valley after a lengthy international playing and coaching career. Kelly, a Costa Mesa, Calif. native, also has coaching experience at Vanguard University and on the high school level. The bulk of Kelly's career was spent playing and coaching in Australia. His most recent stint as a player and a coach was with the Wollongong Hawks, an Australian professional team. Kelly played his college basketball at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Calif., and Orange Coast Junior College in Costa Mesa, Cailf. He received a degree in Economics and Business from Westmont in 1989. After graduation Kelly played professionally in Taiwan for one year before moving to Australia where he continued playing for 16 years. Kelly began his coaching experience in Australia as a player-coach and has been in the full-time coaching ranks for seven years. Kelly received his master's degree in Coaching and Sports Administration from Concordia University in Irvine, Calif. He and his wife Annette currently live in Pleasant Grove, Utah, with their three children. |
