Kevin Young joins the 2005 Utah Valley State coaching staff. Young came from Oxford College of Emory University ( Oxford, Georgia), where he served as an assistant coach for one year. The Oxford College squad posted a 22-10 record in the 2004-2005 season and the team finished the year ranked 10 th in the final NJCAA poll. After a stellar high school career at Sprayberry High School where he was an All-County performer, Young starred on the junior college level, leading Middle Georgia College ( Cochran, Georgia) to a NJCAA Region XVII championship. He was a Region VXII All-Tournament selection. From junior college, Young went on to play at Clayton State University (Morrow, Georgia) from 2002-2004. He ranks in the top ten at Clayton State in the following statistical categories: assists, steals, games started and three-point percentage. Young graduated from Clayton State with a degree in Integrative studies. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and raised in Marietta, Georgia. |
