OREM, Utah -- Utah Valley University guard Isiah Williams and head coach Dick Hunsaker have been honored by CollegeInsider.com as the Great West Conference's Player of the Year and Coach of the Year.

The two were part of UVU's first-ever trip to the postseason at the NCAA DI level and an appearance in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT).

Williams was named the GWC Player of the Year by CollegeInsider.com after leading the Great West with 16.4 points per game overall.

"I firmly felt that Isiah had a player of the year season," said Hunsaker.

The senior from Chicago was the Great West's Player of the Year as a junior and earned first-team All-Conference honors as a senior. Williams was also the program's first honorable mention All-America recipient as a junior. He became the fourth Wolverine player to reach 1,000 career points and finished his career fourth on the all-time scoring list.

Williams scored a game-high 26 points in the Wolverines' narrow 72-69 loss in the opening round of the CIT at Weber State.

For Hunsaker, the CollegeInsider.com award comes on the heels of his second straight Coach of the Year honor from the Great West Conference. Hunsaker led Utah Valley to a 20-win season and its second straight GWC championship. The 2011-12 Wolverine season included a 13-game win streak, a school record.
