My entire life I have thought of China as a very distant place that I would never visit. China to me was simply a country that did things very different from Americans. I knew that the food was different. I knew that the language was different. I knew that the government was different. However, beyond that my knowledge of the people and culture was very limited.

I think that each one of us on the team feels very blessed and fortunate to have been able to spend some time in China. I don't think it's a stretch at all to say that this has been the trip of a lifetime for each one of us on the team. I personally have learned a lot more about the Chinese Culture. The people have been so kind and welcoming to us everywhere we have gone. The Chinese people are a very warm people.

I think it is safe to say that one of the biggest differences we have experienced on this trip is the food. Contrary to what one might assume we aren't eating orange chicken from Panda Express everyday. Although the food has been different, most of us have grown to enjoy the rice and other traditional Chinese foods we have been fortunate enough to experience.

The highlight of the trip has to be the basketball games we have played in. Being able to play in large arenas and Olympic venues all over China is priceless. We have really grown as a team and have played well against very talented professional teams. We competed every night giving it all we had and were able to beat three professional teams. This will give us some great confidence going forward this season in being able to accomplish the goals we have as a team.

The memories we have experienced on this trip will stay with us the rest of our lives. We wont ever forget beating three professional teams. We won't ever forget playing hard every night and competing at such a high level. We won't ever forget the incredible shopping experience we had in Shenzhen. We won't ever forget eating dragon fruit or rice at every meal. We won't ever forget seeing the caves in Jinhua. We won't ever forget the long bus rides together and the sights we saw. We won't ever forget all the different hotels we have been in and trying to find Wi-Fi together. We won't ever forget signing autographs and taking picture everywhere we go. Most of all we won't ever forget the friendship and camaraderie that we all feel towards each other. This truly has been a trip never to be forgotten.
