The Utah Valley University men's basketball spent some time at the Boys and Girls Club of Provo, teaching the youth about basketball and the commitment it takes to be a college athlete and student.
"Before the team arrived the kids were jumping and dancing around in anticipation. It is great that the UVU basketball team could come over and inspire the kids not only play sports but to attend college as well," said Charlotte Coleman, a counselor at the club.
"It was really cool have the team here today," said Dante Ruggiano. "My favorite part was learning the fundamentals of defense."
In addition to defense the team worked with the kids on proper shooting technique and played games as well.
"I really enjoyed coming here," said UVU junior forward Chad Ross. "It brings me joy to see the smiles on the faces as my teammates and I interacted with them."
