OREM, Utah -- Utah Valley University head men's basketball coach Dick Hunsaker hosted the fifth annual Hoop Heaven on Wednesday in the UCCU Center.
A number of female UVU employees, staff, and spouses attended the chalk talk and lunch, which featured a recap and photos of the team's August trip to China. Attendees also had an opportunity to talk with players and coaches, receive a video session in the locker room, and get a closer look at the inner workings of UVU men's basketball.
"It was awesome. It's fun to meet the players and it's exciting to hear the background and the preparation that goes into the coaching," said Ann Peterson, who was attending her first Hoop Heaven. "I think Coach Hunsaker is a wonderful coach and works great with the players and interacts well with the public."
"I love coming back because of the interaction with the players and it gets us excited for the new season," said Stephanie Albach, who attended for the fourth year. "It's fun to see Coach Hunsaker on a level where you get to see his passion in a fun way."
Hunsaker is entering his 12th season at the helm of Wolverine men's basketball and their first season as members of the Western Athletic Conference. UVU begins the inaugural WAC season on Nov. 8 when it hosts IUPUI.
