OREM, Utah - Utah Valley University basketball returns to the McKay Center as the 2008-09 collegiate season gets underway with an exhibition game between the visiting Mesa State Mavericks and the home town Wolverines Thursday at 7 p.m.

"We're looking forward to our second scrimmage/exhibition and to be out in front of our crowd on our home court against a team that we've been playing for a few years," UVU head coach Dick Hunsaker said. "They are well coached and well disciplined, and it's a terrific exhibition match for us."

The exhibition game will be fans' first opportunity to see seniors Ryan Toolson, Josh Olsen, and Brett Ravenberg in their final year in collegiate basketball along with the team's six newcomers.

Admission to the game is free with a can of food for the Utah Food Bank, and $2 without a donation. The women's team will also have an exhibition game as the first of the double-header and will tip off at 4:30 against Fort Lewis.
