Wolverines Prepare for Montana Western
Nov. 17, 2008
OREM, Utah - The Utah Valley University men's basketball season will continue Tuesday at the McKay Center as the 1-0 Wolverines host the Bulldogs of Montana Western (4-2) at 7 p.m. "Montana Western is a very high scoring team with outstanding perimeter shooting," UVU head coach Dick Hunsaker said. "They are athletic and are able to penetrate and collapse defenses. We're going to have to be very excited to play Montana Western. They played Southern Utah in exhibition toe-to-toe earlier in the month, which is a great indicator of the ability of their team." In Utah Valley's season opener, senior guard Ryan Toolson led his team to a 68-62 win over 2008 Big Sky Tournament runner-up Northern Arizona. Toolson had 23 points in the game, followed by fellow senior captain Josh Olsen with nine points and seven assists. The Wolverines will also host Louisiana-Lafayette Saturday at 7 p.m. in the third of four home games to open the 2008-09 season. Long-time UVU announcer Steve Watts will be calling both games live on 1400 KSTAR. Watts can also be heard on the Internet through the live audio link at WolverineGreen.com.
