OREM, Utah – Utah Valley University will wrap up its early season five-game road swing with a two-game trip beginning Saturday at Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tenn. The Wolverines (2-3) and Golden Eagles (4-4) will tip on Saturday at 7 p.m. CT/6 p.m. MT from the Eblen Center. The game can be heard live on 960 AM the Zone.

UVU last played at Pepperdine on Saturday, Nov. 23, stumbling late in a physical 58-53 loss to the Waves in Malibu. Zach Nelson scored 13 while Keawe Enos added 12 and Ben Aird finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Saturday’s game will be the first meeting between Utah Valley and Tennessee Tech and the first of two games this season with the Golden Eagles, who visit Orem on Dec. 28.

The Golden Eagles, from the Ohio Valley Conference, moved to 3-1 at home following a 98-83 win over East Tennessee State on Wednesday.

“Tennessee Tech is another athletic, defensive, pressure-oriented team,” said UVU head coach Dick Hunsaker. “We will once again be tested physically and mentally to adjust to their in-your-face aggression.”

Ty Allen leads three players in double figures with 12.8 ppg. Dennis Ogbe averages 10.4 and Dwan Caldwell is at 10.1 per game. The Golden Eagles are out-rebouding opponents by over eight boards per game and have alternated wins and losses so far this season.

On Monday the Wolverines will face South Dakota, a former Great West Conference foe and current Summit League program.
