UVU Men's Basketball Spreads Holiday Cheer
Dec. 26, 2012
Prior to taking a short Christmas break last week, the Utah Valley men's basketball team took some time out to spread some holiday cheer. In what's become an annual tradition, the team and coaches visit some local retirement communities to spend time with the residents and sing Christmas carols. The team, which visits local boys and girls clubs and elementary schools on a regular basis, sang at several communities including The Seville and at Golden Living -- both located in Orem. "This has become one of our favorite traditions over the last few years," said Linda Nelson, Enrichment Coordinator at The Seville - Holiday Retirement. "Our residents always enjoy the visit from these tall, handsome young men and we love being able to see a more personal and tender side of these athletes." For internship or volunteer opportunities at The Seville retirement community, visit their website (www.holidaytouch.com/Our-Communities/the-seville.aspx) or call 801-406-9263.
