UVU Drops to 12th at Bandon Dunes

BANDON, Ore. -- The Utah Valley University men's golf team slipped two spots Saturday after the second round of the three-day Bandon Dunes Championships. The Wolverines, who were tied for 10th after the first day, shot a 309 to drop to 12th. "Today was one of those days were nothing went our way," UVU men's golf coach Chris Curran said. "We got off to a poor start and we were never able to recover." The University of Washington (+3) leads the tournament and is followed by Long Beach State (+10) and the University of Oregon (+16). Mason Casper, who was tied for 12th, shot a second-round 76 and fell into a tie for 28th. Stratton Schulz (76) is tied for 42nd, while Brayden Eriksen (78), Michael Dart (78) and Clark Fredrickson (86) are T59, T70 and T80, respectively. Washington's Chris Williams leads the tournament at -4. Final round action gets underway Sunday morning.
