Men's Golf Finishes Fall With 10th Place Finish

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - The Utah Valley University men's golf team wrapped up its fall schedule with a 10th place finish at the Bill Cullum Invitational at Wood Ranch Golf Club on Tuesday. Nick Nelson led the Wolverines with a 21st place finish while Jeff Holmes finished in a tie for 23rd. Nelson shot a 1-over-par 73 to finish the 54-hole tournament at +2 while Holmes' final round 74 (2-over) put him a +4. Clark Fredrickson shot a 4-over-par 76 on Tuesday and finished third among the Wolverine golfers, in a tie for 45th. UVU shot a combined score of 304 for a three-round total of 904, one shot back of Cal State Bakersfield. Host Cal State Northridge won the team tournament by two strokes over Loyola Marymount. The Wolverines' spring schedule begins Feb. 11-12 at the Pat Hick Thunderbird Invitational in St. George.
