UVU Travels to Pacific-Northwest for Palouse Collegiate

OREM, Utah -- After finishing in a tie for third at the Battle in the Tetons last week, the Utah Valley University men's golf team is back in action Monday and Tuesday at the Palouse Collegiate in Pullman, Wash. Last year, the Wolverines vaulted from fifth place to second on the final day. Live scoring will be available during the tournament at www.golfstat.com. Play for the 36-hole first day gets underway at 7:30 a.m. PT. In addition to Utah Valley, host Washington State, Arizona, Boise State, British Columbia, Cal State Fullerton, Gonzaga, Idaho, Sacramento State, San Jose State and Santa Clara will participate in the 54-hole event to be contested at the par-72, 7,308-yard Palouse Ridge Golf Club. Last week, the Wolverines had two players finish in the Top 10 at the Battle in the Tetons. Mason Casper (74-72-72) finished in a tie for third, while Joey Olson (72-73-74) finished in a tie for ninth. As a team, the Wolverines entered the day in fifth place, but moved ahead of Weber State to finish in a tie for third with Utah State University.
Behind Casper and Olson, Preston Richards (75-80-77) and Brayden Eriksen (75-77-86) placed in a tie for 36th and a tie for 43rd, respectively.
