OREM, Utah - The Utah Valley State golf team will travel to Boise to compete in the Boise Roundup on Monday and Tuesday at Falcon Crest Golf Club. The Wolverines are coming off a second place finish at the Bill Ross Intercollegiate October 4-5.

The Utah Valley State golf team finished second in the Bill Ross Intercollegiateon Tuesday, October 5th. The Wolverines forced a two-hole playoff by making upfive strokes in the final round. The playoff consisted of the five golfers fromeach school playing the two holes.
The two schools tied the first hole but Oklahoma Christian won the second holewith three pars and a birdie, where Utah Valley had four pars.
-We were right there with plenty of chances,- Utah Valley State golf coach TommyJohnson said. -In fact, we had better shots than they did. We just didn't geta putt to go down. We're pleased but at the same time disappointed.-
Nic van Vurren paced Utah Valley finishing third by shooting two over par. TaddCoxx finished tied for sixth at five over par and Cody Powers tied for 10th .Milo Lines and Eric Jensen also had nice outings, by finishing 21st and 26th.
After day one of the meet, the Wolverines were in third place, while North DakotaState sat in first and Oklahoma Christian second. Van Vuren, who was in 10thplace after day one, moved up seven spots on the final day.
As a team Utah Valley shot 289 in the final round. Despite finishing second,Johnson feels the second place finish will only motivate his team to do betterin its final fall meet at Boise State next Monday and Tuesday.
-If you draw a positive from this it is that this motivates our guys to do betterthe next time and work harder,- Johnson said. -We're happy but at the same timewe had a chance to get this one.-
