Final Team & Individual Results (PDF)
BOISE, Idaho - Utah Valley State golfer, Cody Powers finished the final round with an 8-under, 205 good for second place in the Bronco Roundup on Tuesday at Boise Ranch Golf Club.
After shooting rounds of 70 and 64 in the first two rounds, Powers fired in a round of even par, 71 and finished one stroke behind Ben Bryson of Washington State. Bryson, who was 10-under after the first two rounds shot a third round 1-over, 72 to barely sneak by Powers for the individual title.
-Cody [Powers] played great,- said golf coach Tommy Johnson. -He sparked our team yesterday with his 64, and he played consistent all weekend.-
Powers' 64 on Monday ended up being the low round of the tournament, making it the second time out of four tournaments that a Wolverine golfer has recorded a tournament low round.
Powers was only UVSC golfer to finish in the top 20. Nic van Vuuren had the next best tournament total, finishing tied for 24th at 3-over. Colin Tucker shot 6-over and tied for 33rd , Milo Lines finished at 10-over and tied for 44th , and Ryan Sausedo ended up tied for 64th at 21-over for the tournament.
As a team the Wolverines fell from 5th after the first day to 7th overall in the 10-team field.
-We took a step backward, but we will learn from our mistakes and get better,- said a positive Johnson.
