Wrestling Season Preview, UVU Begins Campaign Thursday with Intrasquad

The 2012-13 Wolverines will showcase their talents Thursday at 7 p.m. at the PE Building.

At Utah Valley University ...
SOPHOMORE ~ (2012-13): 1-2 overall record ... competed in just one tournament on the season -- the Reno Tournament of Champions on Dec. 16 and went 1-2 while wrestling unattached ... picked up his win over Missouri Valley's Ryan Stearns via tech fall, 20-4.

FRESHMAN ~ (2011-12): 21-15 overall record (8-8 duals) ... placed fourth at the NCAA West Regional/WWC Championships (March 4) by going 2-2 at the tournament ... won UNC's Old Chicago Open (Nov. 19) by going a perfect 5-0 and finished third at the Northwest College Open (Nov. 5) to open the season by going 4-1 ... went 2-2 at his first trip to the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (Dec. 2-3) ... helped UVU defeat both Stanford and Cal Poly on Feb. 3 in Palo Alto, Calif. with two wins that night ... posted two pins, three tech falls, four major decisions and nine wins via decision.

REDSHIRT ~ (2010-11): Redshirted the season and went 16-6 while wrestling unattached for the year.
