Avery Garner and Josh Wilson made the WWC All-Academic Team while 13 other UVU wrestlers were named to the Coaches' Honor Roll.

Wolverine Wrestling Season Preview, New Era Starts Wednesday with Intrasquad

UVU will showcase its talents Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Activity Center with the annual Intrasquad Dual.

FRESHMAN ~ (2012-13): Did not compete due to injury.

REDSHIRT ~ (2011-12): Redshirted the season and went 7-5 while competing unattached at 174 pounds ... also named to the WWC Coaches' Honor Roll.

Before Utah Valley ...
Prepped at Scottsboro High School in Scottsboro, Ala. ... a five-time State Champion ... during the 2007-08 season recorded 58 pins, a National record for most pins in a single season ... was a Sophomore National Champion, a Junior National Runner-Up, and a Junior Fargo All-American in 2008 ... in 2008 won the Dave Schultz State and Region award and also won the Junior Schalles that same year as well ... went 275-9 in high school ... helped his team to three State Championships and one second place finish ... in 2008 his team crowned seven State Champions in 2008, an Alabama State record.
