UVU's Sammie Jensen Named GWC Player of the Year

Jensen was also named First Team All-Conference.

At Utah Valley ...
JUNIOR (2010-11): Named to the GWC All-Conference Second Team ... played in all 29 games and started 26 of them ... averaged 13.5 ppg overall for the season and 14.9 ppg in conference-only play ... tied a career-high with 29 points vs. Seattle U. on Jan. 15 ... scored in double figures 21 times on the year and scored over 20 points five times ... hit five 3-pointers in a game twice on the year as she went 5-8 behind the arc against Seattle and 5-7 vs. HBU on Feb. 26 ... averaged 29.7 minutes per game, shot 39.3 percent field, 38.3 percent from three and 73.2 percent from the charity stripe.

SOPHOMORE (2009-10): Appeared in 31 of 32 games ... started final 22 games of the season and averaged 14.9 ppg as a starter ... finished with an 11.8 ppg average on the year ... scored 20 points or more six times including 29 in 50 minutes in UVU's first-ever triple-overtime game at Southern Utah on Dec. 12 ... had 27 points in win over NJIT on March 4 ... averaged 16.0 points in three wins during Great West Tournament ... had 21 vs. Chicago State and 17 in championship win over North Dakota and was named to All-Tournament team ... averaged 27.5 minutes per game.
