CHANDLER, Ariz. -- After the first 18 holes at the Wyoming Cowgirls Classic, the Utah Valley University women's golf team sits in a three-way tie for 14th place at the Ocotillo Golf Resort.

Santa Clara and Northern Colorado stand alongside UVU on the team leaderboard.

On the individual leaderboard, the Wolverines' Brooke Bliss, a sophomore from St. George, Utah, sits in a tie for 33rd after posting a team-best 81 (+9) through the first round.

Senior Jordyn Dougal (+11) is just two shots back of Bliss, posting a first-round 83 to sit in a tie with 11 other golfers for 47th place.

Sophomore Lynn-Marie Nagel (+12) scored a round of 84 and is in 59th place followed closely by freshman Kalea Heu's 84 in 66th.

Led by tournament leader Hayley Young (-1), Boise State (307) leads the Classic by seven strokes over Northern Arizona. Tournament host Wyoming is in a tie for 12th, only two strokes ahead of Utah Valley.

Heather Mathison, a sophomore, posted a 90 to round out the field for UVU.

The second and final round of the Classic gets underway at 6:30 a.m. MT. Mathison will be the first Wolverine to tee off, beginning at hole one at 6:39.
