KUNA, Idaho - The Utah Valley University women's golf team finds itself in ninth place after 36 holes of play at Boise State's Bronco Fall Invitational on Monday. The final round of the tournament will take place Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the Falcon Crest Golf Club in Kuna, Idaho.

The Wolverines sit in ninth place after shooting two identical rounds of 34-over par on Monday. UVU will enter the final day of play 30 shots ahead of 10th-place Idaho State and 18 shots behind eighth-place Montana State.

Junior Brooke Whittaker is leading the way for UVU as she sits in a tie for 23rd after shooting 10-over par. After firing an 80 in the first round, Whittaker answered with a two-over 74 in round number two to help her sit atop the Wolverine leader board.

Sophomore Kalea Heu and freshman Monica Yeates, who are both competing as individuals at the tournament, are next for Utah Valley as they are currently tied for 35th and 40th, respectively, with scores of +14 and +16. Heu had the best round for UVU on the day with a one-over 73 in round number two. The sophomore picked up one birdie, 15 pars and two bogeys en route to the best round of golf in her career.

At +17, juniors Hannah Herman and Lynn-Marié Nagel are UVU's second best team scorers as they sit in a tie for 42nd place. Sophomore Cassandra Lesa is next for the Wolverines as she sits in 55th place after carding a 24-over par.

 

 

Santa Clara leads the field after finishing day one with a two-over par. Host Boise State holds the second spot at +11 and Portland State sits in third at +19.

Following the conclusion of the tournament, the Wolverines will be off until Oct. 7-9 when they'll travel to Las Cruces, N.M., to participate at New Mexico State's Price's Give `Em Five Classic.
