WAHIAWA, Hawai'i - Utah Valley junior Lynn-Marié Nagel moved up two spots at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Wahiawa, Hawai'i, after carding her second consecutive 75 (+3) on Wednesday.

Nagel moved into a tie for seventh place at 6-over-par (150) for the tournament. She will enter Thursday's final round just five shots back of the lead.

As a team, the Wolverines remain in eighth place at +47 (623) after carding 17-over on Wednesday. The day two total was 13 strokes better than what UVU fired during Tuesday's opening round.

At 47-over for the tournament, Utah Valley sits just one shot back of seventh-place Grand Canyon and nine back BYU and Northern Arizona, who are both tied for fifth place. Host Hawai'i leads the field at +23, while New Mexico State is in second (+25) and Sacramento State is in third (+26).

UVU's Hawaiian duo of Kalea Heu (Wailuku, Hawai'i), who is playing as an individual, and Cassandra Lesa (Kaneohe, Hawai'i) also turned in impressive rounds on Wednesday as they shot 2 and 3-over, respectively. After two rounds of play the duo is now tied for 23rd place at 10-over-par (154).

Junior Brooke Whittaker also played well during Wednesday's second round as she finished six strokes better than her previous day's total. After shooting a 4-over 76 on Wednesday, Whittaker now sits in a tie for 34th at 14-over-par (158).

Fellow junior Hannah Herman also turned in a better outing on Wednesday, as she carded a 7-over 79. Herman's 79 was eight shots better than her 87 she fired on Tuesday and helped her move up five spots as she now sits in a tie for 45th (166). After shooting 11-over-par (83) on Wednesday, redshirt freshman Kimberly Nyhus is one spot ahead of Herman as she currently resides in 44th place at 21-over (165).

Also in action for Utah Valley on Wednesday were individuals Monica Yeates and Heather Mathison. Yeates will enter Thursday's final round in 47th place (167) after carding a 12-over 84 on Wednesday, while Mathison sits one spot back of her with a total of 168 after shooting 13-over during the second round.

The Wolverines will conclude the tournament as well as the fall portion of their schedule on Thursday. The final round will tee off at Leilehua Golf Course Thursday at 8: 30 a.m. HT (12:30 p.m. MT). Fans can follow the action by visiting Golfstat.com.
