Results Thru One Round

ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. - Abbie Lei Archibald leads Utah Valley after the opening round of the Lamkin Grip Cal Poly Invitational at Cypress Ridge Golf Course. It's the final tournament of the fall for UVU.

Archibald shot an opening round 80 and is tied for 40th. The Wolverines sit in 14th place, three shots behind two teams tied for 12th; Cal State Bakersfield and Eastern Washington.

Breanna Patz of Xavier (Ohio) and Samantha Saffold of Sacramento State are co-leaders after opening rounds of 1-under 72 on the 6,046-yard, par-72 course.

Xavier leads the team standings with a four-person nine-over-par 297 total, one stroke ahead of Cal State Northridge. Northern Arizona is third at 300, followed by Sacramento State (306) and host Cal Poly (308). There are 16 teams in the two-day tournament, which begins its final round early Monday morning.

Stephanie Fox shot an 82 and is tied for 52nd, Brittany Butler (84, t-67th), Stacey Parkinson (86, 74th) and Erika Baldwin (87, t-75th) round out the Utah Valley golfers.
