UVU Women in 12th After Day 1 in Hawaii
KAPOLEI, Hawaii-- After Tuesday's second round of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational hosted by the University of Hawaii, the Utah Valley University women's golf team was in 12th place.
After the completion of Round 2, sophomore Celeste Gish (81), who was tied for 47th after Round 1, moved up to 44th, while Nagel (79) and Dougal (79) dropped into a tie for 48th.
In the second round, Gish was even par for the round after a birdie on her seventh hole of the day, but she played the next 11 holes at +5.
In the first round, Nagel was even par after five holes before recording back-to-back double bogeys. He battled back with a pair of birdies to bring it back to +2 after nine holes, but she played the remaining nine holes in +6.
Bliss had a pair of birdies on her back nine before finishing at +7. She fell into a tie for 61st after a second-round 91. Freshman Haley Dunn (87-89) is in 63rd.
UCLA led after the first round at even par, while fellow Pac-12 members Washington and Stanford were tied for second at +7. The Bruins (-10) now lead by 18 shots over Washington and Florida International.
UCLA's Lee Lopez leads by one shot over San Jose State's Madeleine Ziegert.
Final round action gets underway Wednesday at 1 p.m. MT (8 a.m. Hawaii).
