OREM, Utah -- First-year women's golf coach Chris Curran has announced his first official recruiting class with the signing of Beverly Pike to a National Letter of Intent.

"I am very excited about Beverly joining the team next fall," said Curran. "She is a very hard worker and will push all the players around her to get better. Beverly is a great addition to our team."

Pike, who hails from York, Pennsylvania, is a four-year letterwinner at York Suburban High School. She was awarded the Philadelphia PGA Junior Tour Female Player of the Year in 2007 and 2008.

Pike qualified for the county, district and regional tournaments two times and as a senior tied for third at regionals and 12th at the Pennsylvania State Tournament.

During the regular season, Pike plays as part of the York boy's team, competing from the same tees, because her school does not have a girl's golf team. She plans to major in Elementary Education at Utah Valley University.
