GREELEY, Colo. - An injury-depleted Utah Valley squad played tough for 80 minutes but fell 1-0 to Northern Colorado as the Bears scored in the final 10 minutes on a free kick.

"We are pretty beat up right now," UV head coach Brent Anderson said. "But we have to work through it and sort everything out to get ready for Northern Arizona."

The Wolverines played without two regular starters and suffered two injuries during the game.

Utah Valley fired off nine shots, six on goal but were unable to find the net. Mallory Schott, who typically plays as the Wolverines goalkeeper, led the Wolverines with three shots while playing in the field for the first time this season.

Freshman Hailey Brown got her first start in goal and held the Bears scoreless for 80 minutes.

After a scoreless first half, the Wolverines came out in the second half and fired seven shots, including four on goal.

In the 81st minute, Northern Colorado got a free kick from 30 yards out. Jessica Zimmerman fired a shot slipped past Brown to give the Bears the 1-0 lead.

The Wolverines fired two shots in the final 10 minutes including a header off from Schott that sailed high.

UV returns home as the Wolverines welcome Northern Arizona to Orem for a Friday afternoon match.
