2013 Fall All Academic All-WAC Teams

DENVER -- The Western Athletic Conference has announced its academic all-WAC teams for the fall of 2013 and 24 Utah Valley University student-athletes have been named to the honor. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average, and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.

The fall sports of men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, and volleyball were included on the list.

Wolverine women's soccer put out the most UVU representatives this fall, with nine players on the list. Seven men's cross country runners, coming off the first WAC championship in school history, made the cut with six more on the women's side. Wolverine volleyball had two representatives to round out Utah Valley's 24-member academic all-WAC team.

"UVU Athletics is proud of those student-athletes who have been named to the Academic All-WAC teams," said Utah Valley Director of Athletics Vince Otoupal. "Their pursuit of academic success -- not to mention success on the field of play -- is commended and truly appreciated.

"This is yet another reason UVU joined the WAC: to be able to be recognized for our work in the venue of competition and in the classroom. Accomplishments like this, once again, help us to continue our evolution as an athletics program and define the Wolverine Way."
