OREM, Utah - Utah Valley University women's soccer coach Brent Anderson has announced the signing of Kasandra Anderson, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) junior college Player of the Year. Anderson led her team at Iowa Western Community College to its first national title in November.

She is enrolled at UVU and began attending classes in January, and joins an incoming class that will be a part of the Wolverines' second WAC season in 2014.

"We are very pleased to have Kasandra join us here at UVU. She is a very accomplished player, coming off of a National Championship season and being recognized by the NSCAA," Anderson said. "I am grateful to coach Brad Silvey at IWCC for his help in making this happen. I can't wait to incorporate Kasandra into our team. She has a history of hard work and success wherever she's been and I'm looking forward to what she will bring to the Wolverines."

Anderson was also named an NSCAA/Continental Tire First Team All-American and an NJCAA Division I First Team All-American as a sophomore at Iowa Western. The midfielder finished with 13 goals and 14 assists (40 points) on the season for the Reivers. She also led IWCC to a third place finish nationally in 2012 and was selected first team All-Region in each of her seasons there.

Anderson hails from Nibley, Utah and prepped at Mountain Crest HS and was a four-year letterwinner. A team captain in 2011 and 2012, she was named first team All-State as a senior. She was also a three-time All-Valley selection and a three-time Offensive Player of the Year for the Mustangs.
