Wolverines Land 30 Student-Athletes on the 2011 GWC Fall Academic Team

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The Great West Conference has announced its 2011 Fall Academic All-Conference honors for the sports of football, men's and women's cross country, women's soccer and volleyball and 30 Utah Valley University student-athletes made the cut.
Of the 30 Wolverine student-athletes to be honored 10 of them were from the soccer team, seven were from volleyball, seven from women's cross country and six from men's cross country.
In all, 175 Great West Conference athletes were named to the team based on a minimum cumulative 3.2 grade point average. The athletes also must have participated in at least 50 percent of their respective team's contests. Using the institutions' most recent GPA, the student-athletes are selected by each member institution's sports information director, with approval from the faculty athletic representative and the head coach. First-year students and JC transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
Making up the academic team for the entire conference are 48 football players, 26 men's cross country runners, 31 women's cross country runners, 49 women's soccer players and 21 volleyball players.
Leading the honorees are six athletes who have achieved 4.0 grade point averages. Those individuals are NJIT men's cross country runner Jonathan Daudelin, North Dakota volleyball player Ronni Munkeby, South Carolina State women's soccer players Morgan Roesler and Stephanie Searle, South Dakota football player Kevin Robb and Southern Utah football player Brad Meyer.
