College Sports Madness All-WAC Teams

OREM, Utah -- The women's soccer staff writers at College Sports Madness have announced their Preseason All-Western Athletic Conference teams, and the list includes five representatives of Utah Valley University.

Three Wolverines were named first team All-WAC, while two more qualified for the second team. Headlining the honorees were senior defender Lexi Dunn and freshman midfielder Rylee Gritton who were named Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and Preseason Freshman of the Year, respectively.

Joining Dunn on CSM's All-WAC first team are senior striker Natalie Baker and junior midfielder Lexi Robison. A native of Orem, Robison was also named to the official WAC preseason all-conference team on Monday.

Representing UVU on CSM's second team are senior forward Haley Curtis and sophomore defender Lexi Felis.

Snubbed from CSM's list was Lauren Sack, a senior goalkeeper who earned an all-conference selection in the official WAC coaches' poll released Monday.

In that same poll, Utah Valley was picked to finish second in its inaugural WAC season by the league's coaches.

The Wolverines will host its first exhibition match this Saturday, Aug. 17, with the annual Green & White game followed by the Alumni Game. From there, the 2013 season gets underway in El Paso, Texas, on Aug. 23 when UVU visits UTEP.
