OREM, Utah - Utah Valley travels to Flagstaff, Arizona this week for 4th Annual High Altitude Tournament featuring host Northern Arizona, New Mexico and Central Arkansas.

The Wolverines (4-2-1) will face New Mexico on Fri. at 4 p.m. and Northern Arizona on Sun. at 2 p.m.

After beginning the season's first five games without a loss, UVU has lost two straight, both by one goal and both at the Idaho State Classic in Pocatello.

The Wolverines were shutout 1-0 vs. Wyoming and dropped a 2-1 contest to UC Davis two days later. Freshman Ashley Burdett scored her first career goal in the loss to UC Davis.

"We've spent the past few days working on some of the problems we had last weekend and hopefully we'll see improvements on those problems and in our attack," said head coach Brent Anderson.

Despite the two losses, Utah Valley is still of to its best start through seven games in school history.

New Mexico (3-2-4) is coming off of a 3-0 loss at No. 2 (Soccer Buzz) UCLA on Sept. 21. The Lobos fought No. 30 San Diego to a scoreless tie on the 19th. The Mountain West school leads the all-time series against UVU 1-0 after winning 3-1 during the 2007 season.

Northern Arizona (4-5-1) has won two straight, defeating VMI (3-1) on Sept. 19 and Louisiana-Monroe (5-2) on Sept. 21. The Wolverines are 0-2-1 all-time against the Lumberjacks.

For the third consecutive week, goalkeeper Mallory Schott was named the Great West Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

The senior from Vancouver, Wash. continued to hold up the back line for Utah Valley despite the 0-2 week at the Idaho State Classic. Schott collected six saves in a 1-0 loss against Wyoming and then collected eight saves in the 2-1 loss to UC Davis.

Schott kept the Wolverines in both games despite being out shot 18-6, while playing all 180 minutes in the net and collecting a .824 saves percentage.
