Bagdan Tabbed as USC's Rookie of the Week

OREM, Utah - Longwood's Michelle DeSieno and Anne Whitmore, along with Utah Valley's Andi Bagdan, took home the weekly United Soccer Conference honors for their performances last week. DeSieno was named Player of the Week while Whitmore took home Goalie of the Week and Bagdan Rookie of the Week. It was the second weekly honor earned by Whitmore while DeSieno and Bagdan earn their first. DeSieno tallied her team-best third goal of season against DSU, and first game-winning goal of year in the Lancers 1-0 victory over Delaware State last week. Whitmore, making her first appearance in nearly a month Sept. 9, earned her team-best and USC-leading second shutout of the season against the Hornets. Bagdan scored her second goal of the season last week in the Wolverines 2-1 loss to Dixie State. Bagdan also led the Wolverines with four shots against Utah early last week. Bagdan's totals include one goal on seven shots while playing in three games last week. DeSieno now ranks second in the USC for goals (3), while Whitmore is among the league-leaders in nearly every goalkeeper category.
