Turner Earns Second Offensive Player of the Week Award

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Utah Valley sophomore Katey Turner has been named the Great West Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 26, the league office announced Tuesday. Turner captures her second Offensive Player of the Week of the season with three goals in three games to lead Utah Valley to a 2-1 record last week. The sophomore tallied two insurance goals in the 3-0 win over Howard and collected the game-winning goal in the 3-0 blanking of Longwood last Saturday. The win over Longwood was Utah Valley's 10th win of the season, a new school record for the Wolverines. UVU is playing in its final United Soccer Conference tournament this weekend before beginning Great West Conference play next fall. The Wolverines, who finished the USC play a perfect 5-0, will face NJIT on Saturday at 2 p.m. MT in one semifinal while host Longwood will face Howard. The winners of the two games will play Monday at 3:30 p.m. MT in the championship. The Wolverines are the defending tournament champions.
